Definition and Purpose
MediCorphealth.org is the consumer portal for Mary Washington Hospital and MediCorp Health System. The purpose of this site is to provide a single point of entry to information about the services, physicians, departments and resources found within the MediCorp Health System.

This Web site is designed to serve consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, job seekers and those interested in services and programs at, MediCorp Health System, Mary Washington Hospital and their affiliated businesses.

The site was designed to be an “Informational Site” only. It is not intended to replace any medical advice you may have received from your doctor or another health care professional. If you have specific health questions we suggest you speak with your physician or contact us directly in order to schedule a medical consultation with one of our many physicians and/or healthcare professionals. Responsibility
Web development and the coordinated management of www.medicorphealth.org is provided by a professional team of web developers and content managers. This team is responsible for technical oversight of the Web site. This MediCorp team is responsible for defining the site's functionality, interface design, information architecture, and navigation.

Areas of responsibility include the MediCorp Health homepage found at: www.medicorphealth.org and all primary portal pages and to some extent their secondary pages, and any sites integrated into the primary navigation of the site including maps, calendars, search engine, departmental and program information, and directories. The Web Team is also responsible for the content of these pages. Through the use of a standardized template, the team is responsible for maintaining consistent design and navigation across the entire MediCorp Health Web site.

Content residing on specific departmental Web sites is in some cases managed directly by the individual department or program.

Funding of this Site
This site is funded solely by MediCorp Health System and does not accept any advertising revenue. In some cases you may note links to trusted third parties. In most cases these links have been placed on our site in order to acknowledge their contribution to patient educational materials or other reference materials which have been provided to MediCorp for use on its web site. In most cases our Medical Specialist have reviewed such links to ensure that they provide accurate and reliable information. We caution the user however that linkage to such sites is not an endorsement as to the accuracy of the content or services to which we link.

Viewing Our Site
Although this site has been thoroughly tested across multiple browsers, platforms, operating systems, and monitor resolutions, viewing is optimal with 5.0 or later version of Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Mozilla using a screen resolution of 800 x 600. Graphics, images, and scripting used on the homepage and portal pages have been optimized for the fastest download possible.
