After graduating from the University of British Columbia (Canada) with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN), Lyn came to the United States as a travel nurse.  She has an extensive nursing background, having worked in Emergency Medicine,  Neurology &  Neurosurgery, General Surgery, Orthopedics, and Bariatric Surgery.  She has been an Adjunct Clinical Faculty member at the Northern Virginia Community College for 1st year nursing students and a Clinical Educator for a Surgical/Orthopedic/Bariatric unit.  She has worked with the Bariatric Surgery population since 2000.

In October 2006, Lyn obtained her Med-Surg Certification (CMSRN) and is currently working on a Masters in Health Care Management Systems at Loyola University New Orleans.  

Lyn spends time preparing each patient prior to surgery on what to expect in the hospital.  She visits the patients at various stages throughout their stay and is available to help guide them through the process from initial contact through post-operative follow-up.  Lyn has identified working with the bariatric surgery patients and accompanying them on their journey to health as one of the most rewarding and satisfying roles she has had as a nurse.
